Staff Shop is currently building a talent pool of experienced Cooks to support multiple client sites across the Hamilton and surrounding area on a temporary and on-call basis. These opportunities arise periodically and may include short-term assignments, vacation coverage, or peak demand support. Executive dining, banquets, off-premise catering, food service kitchens.

This posting is intended to identify qualified candidates for future openings. While there may not be an immediate placement, successful applicants will be contacted as suitable assignments become available.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to client specifications and food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and workstations
- Follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and supervisors

Qualifications

- Previous experience as a Cook or in a similar food service role
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices (Food Handler Certification preferred or required depending on assignment)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to accept shifts on short notice
- Reliable transportation may be required depending on location

Compensation





- Hourly rate: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on experience and assignment
- Vacation pay provided in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000
- Public holiday pay eligibility in accordance with Ontario legislation

Work Conditions

- Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Assignments vary by client location and duration
- Work may involve standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs
