Position Overview

We are seeking a Referral Coordinator / Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing the referral process within a primary care clinical setting. This role supports our physicians by ensuring that all referrals, consults, and diagnostic requests are processed accurately and followed through in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Referral Coordination

- Process, and track specialist and diagnostic referrals.
- Follow up on pending referrals to ensure timely appointments and results.
- Maintain accurate referral logs and communicate updates to physicians and patients.
- Collaborate with external specialists, hospitals, and diagnostic centers.

Medical Office Support

- Greet and check in patients in a professional, compassionate manner.
- Schedule and confirm appointments using the EMR (Med Access experience an asset).
- Manage phone calls, emails, and faxes efficiently.
- Assist with scanning, uploading, and managing electronic medical records.




- Support physicians in day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) Certificate Program or similar program (required).
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in referral coordination or referral pathways within a medical clinic or healthcare setting (required).
- Strong knowledge of referral workflows, specialist networks, and follow-up procedures(required)
- Proficiency with Telus Health EMR (Med Access) or similar EMR systems (asset).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Professional, reliable, and able to work collaboratively in a team setting.
