Under the direction and leadership of the Manager, Estimating-Manufacturing, we are seeking a Structural/Architectural Estimator to join our Estimating Department in Calgary, Alberta. The Estimator is responsible for the preliminary Architectural/Structural pricing of modular structures based on RFP requirements and sales layouts. The Estimator interfaces with many teams including Sales, Engineering, Procurement & Manufacturing during the bid process to generate accurate proposals.

This is an in-office full-time permanent role.

Job Responsibilities:

- Plan and Spec Analysis: Review Sales Layouts, architectural & structural drawings, and technical specifications to define the project scope.

- Quantity Takeoffs: Measure and quantify Architectural finishes as well as Structural components based on best known practices and modular assemblies.

- Cost Calculation: Compute expenses for labor, specialized equipment, and raw materials based on current market rates.

- Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit, review, and level bids from structural and architectural trade partners (drywall contractors, painters, millwork and solid surface providers).

- Risk Assessment: Identify design clashes, code compliance issues, buildability issues, deviations from ATCO standards to ensure clear communication with sales and design teams.

- Bid Preparation:



Compile detailed estimates and specifications inclusive of inclusions, exclusions and deviations into formal bid submissions for sales team.

- Coordination: Review preliminary designs with the structural engineers and planning teams to confirm structural requirements and labour hours.

- Assist with updates in the Estimating program – price books, modular assemblies etc.

- Provide input to process improvements as identified through the estimating process

- Ensure that ISO procedures are followed

- Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

- Diploma or equivalent education and experience with focus on Structural and Architectural principles

- 2-4 years of related estimating and/or design experience

- Blueprint reading skills and material take off proficiency

- Excellent organizational and coordination skills

- Self-starter and highly motivated

- Proficient using MS Word, Excel & Bluebeam

- Knowledge of modular building construction methods would be considered an asset

- Familiarity with building and energy codes would be considered an asset
