Picker Truck Operator - Equipment Hauler

Seasonal, Full Time | Edmonton, Alberta

O'Hanlon Paving, a proud member of The Fath Group of Companies, has been a trusted name in Edmonton's road construction industry for over 70 years. We are currently looking for an experienced Picker Truck Operator - Equipment Hauler to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting construction equipment and materials to and from jobsites, operating a picker truck/knuckle boom as required, and safely loading, unloading and securing equipment for transport.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely transport construction equipment and materials to and from jobsites

Operate a picker truck/knuckle boom to load, unload, lift and position equipment and materials.

Load, secure and transport skid steers and other construction equipment on trailers

Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including crane inspections (welds, hydraulics, outriggers) Read and understand load charts and follow protected lifting capacities

Select and use appropriate rigging and hoisting equipment

Complete FLHAs and other required safety documentation

Operate skid steers as required, including forks for handling rebar and materials





Communicate with supervisors and ground personnel to coordinate equipment movement and lifts

Follow all company and regulatory safety requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid Class 3 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract; Class 1 is an asset

Previous experience operating a picker truck/knuckle boom

Experience hauling, loading and securing construction equipment

Experience operating skid steers

Knowledge of rigging, hoisting and safe lifting practices

Ability to read and understand crane load charts

Knuckle Boom Training (one-day commercial safety course) for the unit's 7,947 lb rated capacity

Crane and Hoisting Equipment Operator certification (Boom Truck or Mobile Crane branch) is an asset

Valid First Aid, Fall Protection and applicable construction safety tickets (CSTS-2020 or equivalent)

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and meet the physical requirements of the position
