PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the appropriate Site Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible to ensure Aecon Civil Construction Corp. achieves their general and specific project requirements, on the Deerfoot Trail Improvements Project.

***Expected start date: Immediately***

What You'll Do Here:

- Compact soil, gravel, sand, asphalt, and backfill materials according to project specifications.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on equipment.
- Monitor compaction levels and surface conditions to ensure quality standards are met.




- Work closely with surveyors, excavator operators, labourers, and supervisors to complete construction activities.
- Identify and report equipment defects, safety hazards, and maintenance requirements.
- Maintain daily equipment logs, inspection reports, and production records.
- Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure equipment is protected and working properly
- Follow directions that are spoken or given by hand signals
- Continuously changing work tasks

What You Bring to the Team:

- 3-5 years of experience operating Packer
- 3-5 years of experience on a Civil Earthworks Project
- Ability to work 6 days a week, day and night shift as needed
- 10+ hours work days, overtime required as needed
- Physical strength and stamina
- Manual dexterity
- A safety-conscious attitude
- The ability to work with others in a team
- Repetitive movement
- Able to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work a significant number of hours throughout the day
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
