Apprenticeship Requirements
Applicants must be a Level 1 Construction Electrician Apprentice with more than 3,000 accumulated apprenticeship hours.
Applicants must be registered as a Level 1 Construction Electrician Apprentice in Nova Scotia or be eligible to register or transfer into Level 1 of the Construction Electrician apprenticeship program in Nova Scotia.
Experience
Previous electrical construction experience is an asset.

Responsibilities / Tasks
- Assist with the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment under appropriate supervision
- Install and support conduit, cable and electrical wiring
- Pull and terminate electrical conductors
- Assist with the installation of electrical controls, panels, switches, receptacles and related equipment
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints and specifications
- Use appropriate testing devices under supervision
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical systems
- Perform electrical work under the supervision of qualified journeyperson electricians and in accordance with applicable codes, regulations and company standards
- Assist journeyperson electricians and other members of the electrical crew as required
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
- Follow company and site-specific health and safety procedures
- Complete required safety documentation
Credentials
Applicants must meet the applicable Nova Scotia apprenticeship requirements for a Level 1 Construction Electrician Apprentice.
Proof of current apprenticeship level and accumulated apprenticeship hours may be requested during the hiring process.
