This is a term position until April 2028.

The incumbent, working together with the current Workplace Safety & Health Officers, will continue the development and implementation of Winnipeg School Division’s Safety & Health program in compliance with the Manitoba Workplace Safety & Health Act and Regulations and other related legislation.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- Assisting in the investigation of safety and health issues throughout the Division;
- Inspection of schools and buildings for compliance with safety regulations and policies;
- Provision of training on various workplace safety & health topics;
- Maintaining various programs including WHMIS, Asbestos Management, Lock-out, IAQ, Crawlspace/Confined Space, Hearing Conservation, Working Alone/Isolation, Committees;
- Assessing and developing job hazard analysis and secure work procedures;
- Resource for school administration and management team on Health and Safety program implementation.

Qualifications:





- A Post Secondary diploma or degree specializing in a Safety & Health related discipline or education may be considered;
- Five years experience in the Safety & Health field or similar;
- Working in collaboration with management teams, labour groups, committees etc;
- Excellent communication skills;
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Experience working with a diverse cultural population;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point;
- Knowledge of the current Workplace Safety & Health Act and Regulations;
- Knowledge of construction related regulations, codes and best practice;
- Knowledge of Building maintenance techniques, in particular HVAC systems;
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation or similar would be an asset.

Pay: From $83,433.24 per year
