The Welding Shop Calgary is a growing structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication and installation company serving commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects throughout Alberta. We are looking for an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our team and help ensure our projects run smoothly from award through completion.

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator will work closely with our Project Managers, Estimators, Shop, and Field crews to coordinate structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate projects from handoff through completion.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders.
- Coordinate material procurement and fabrication schedules.
- Work closely with the drafting department, shop, suppliers, and site crews.
- Schedule deliveries, installations, and subcontractors.
- Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes when required.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and milestones.
- Maintain organized project documentation and records.
- Assist with project closeout documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and general contractors.

Qualifications

- Experience in project coordination, project management,



or construction administration.
- Experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or commercial construction is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with project management software such as JobTread, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong attention to detail.
