Rentch Property Management — Calgary, AB
Full-time | Calgary
Rentch is looking for an experienced, licensed Property Manager to take a leading role in our residential property-management operation.
We are looking for someone who knows residential property management, can confidently deal with owners and tenants, makes good decisions under pressure, and wants the opportunity to grow into a leadership position as our company grows.
The Role
You will manage a residential portfolio while taking increasing responsibility for the quality and consistency of Rentch's overall property-management operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing relationships with property owners and residents
- Handling escalated tenant and owner matters
- Overseeing leasing, renewals, arrears, notices and tenancy issues
- Coordinating maintenance and ensuring issues are resolved properly
- Reviewing property performance and identifying problems before they become bigger problems
- Working closely with our leasing, maintenance, accounting and operations teams
- Helping improve the processes our team uses every day
- Providing guidance and support to other team members
- Eventually helping oversee additional Property Managers as Rentch grows
You will have administrative and operational support. We want our Property Manager spending their time managing properties, relationships and decisions rather than being overwhelmed by routine administrative work.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate:
- Holds an active Alberta Property Management licence
- Has approximately 3–7+ years of substantive residential property-management experience
- Has managed a meaningful residential or multifamily portfolio
- Is comfortable communicating directly with property owners
- Can confidently handle difficult tenant situations, disputes, arrears and escalations
- Has a strong understanding of Alberta residential tenancy requirements
- Is organized and comfortable managing a busy portfolio
- Has strong judgment and can work independently without constant direction
- Is comfortable taking ownership of problems and seeing them through to resolution
- Has the leadership ability and ambition to eventually oversee other Property Managers
Experience managing multifamily residential buildings is a strong asset.
We are much more interested in someone who has actually managed residential properties than someone whose experience is primarily condominium management or real-estate sales.
About Rentch
Rentch is an established Calgary residential property-management company managing a diverse portfolio of apartments, multifamily buildings, condos and houses.
Our team includes dedicated leasing, accounting, maintenance and operational support, allowing our Property Managers to focus on the work that requires their experience and judgment.
We believe good property management comes down to accountability, communication, sound decision-making and taking care of problems before they become bigger ones.
This position has room to become much bigger than managing a portfolio.
For the right person, our intention is for this role to develop into a leadership position with responsibility for other Property Managers and an important voice in how Rentch operates and grows.
Compensation
Market-competitive salary based on experience and licensing.
Benefits and additional compensation will be discussed based on experience.
