Bright Mind Counselling is looking to grow its practice of mental health workers to help individuals, couples and families who are struggling with their mental health. Bright Mind Counselling provides an integrative approach to mental health and well-being while providing a client oriented setting which creates a safe and warm atmosphere where a person can feel comfortable discussing their presenting symptoms. Our priority is creating a comfortable environment which can help foster a potential to grow and improve one’s overall mental health.

Job description

Bright Mind is currently seeking an experienced individual with a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) to help round out our team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide initial consultations, treatment planning and clinical counselling sessions regarding a wide variety of different psychological symptoms (for example, anxiety, panic, depression, PTSD, personality disorders, anger management, and chronic pain management).

*Well experienced in providing mental health services to the child and adolescent population.

Potential ongoing collaboration with other medical professionals to help foster an integrative experience for the client.

Provide counselling using a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, solution-focused therapy, strength-based therapy, trauma based therapeutic techniques, mindfulness-based therapy. Also, have experience in individual, family and couples therapy.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)



from a recognized University and be registered with the College of Social Workers/the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

Minimum two years of therapeutic experience (newly graduated individuals with a Master’s Degree in Social Work also accepted).

Experience in dealing with a wide age range and a diverse population of referred/private clients (children, adolescents and adults).

Experienced with counselling services in a variety of different settings (for example, in person, over the phone, or online counselling).

Well versed in constructing treatment notes and recording progress towards overall treatment goals on Practice Management Software (Cliniko).

Experience in creating invoices and billing; answering phone calls/fax for new referrals; booking and scheduling initial consultations and subsequent visits.

A Police Record Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.

Please note:

*This position will be hired for part time work with the opportunity to become full-time as client load increases over time. Position will start as soon as possible.

*Compensation will vary based on client load. The chosen candidate will earn 60% of each client seen. Please refer to 'Pay' section.

*The successful candidate will potentially work a variety of different hours based on client demand/needs. Flexibility in hours and days is required.
