Vocal and Piano Teachers

613 Music Schools | Ottawa, ON

Great teachers deserve a school that understands musicians.

We’re looking for experienced vocal and piano teachers to join our growing team at 613 Music Schools, including Sunnyside Music School and The Ottawa Conservatory of Music.

Our schools are owned and run by musicians. We understand the skill, creativity, and patience that go into outstanding teaching, and we’re looking for people who bring those qualities to their lessons. We take music education seriously, but we also believe a music school should be a welcoming, enjoyable place to work.

Whether you teach voice, piano, or both, we’d love to hear from you. Teachers of other instruments are also welcome to apply.

Immediate teaching opportunities

We have teaching schedules to fill immediately on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Availability on any of these days is especially welcome.

Not available on those days? Please still get in touch. Our schools are growing rapidly, and we welcome applications from experienced teachers with availability at other times.

Who we’re looking for

You’re a confident musician who enjoys helping students discover what they can do. You know how to balance solid technique with music that keeps students interested, and you understand that encouragement and clear direction belong in the same lesson.

We’re looking for teachers who bring:

- Previous music-teaching experience and strong skills in their instrument or voice.
- An engaging, adaptable teaching style that supports different ages, abilities, and musical goals.
- Reliability,

professionalism, and clear communication with students, families, and the school.
- A genuine interest in helping students build confidence, make progress, and enjoy making music.

French is not required. The ability to teach in French is an asset.

What you’ll do

Teach engaging, well-prepared lessons that develop technique, musicianship, and musical expression. Help students set realistic goals, build effective practice habits, and find satisfaction in their progress.

Above all, create the kind of lesson students look forward to attending.

Why teach with us?

You’ll be joining a musician-led school that values your expertise, your individual teaching style, and the relationships you build with students. As our schools grow, there is room to develop your teaching schedule and become part of our musical community.

We appreciate teachers who care about their craft, share ideas, and bring a little personality into the room. Music lessons should have some life in them!

Let’s talk

Apply through Indeed with your résumé and a brief introduction. Please include the instruments you teach, your teaching experience, and your weekly availability, particularly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

A phone call is encouraged. Contact Kelly Craig, Program Director, at to introduce yourself, ask questions, and discuss where you might fit within our schools.

Bring your experience, your enthusiasm, and your love of music. We’d love to meet you.

Pay: $23.19-$32.00 per hour
