Financial Controller - Drayton, ON

Our client is looking for a Financial Controller to oversee their accounting and financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Manage all aspects of the company’s accounting and financial functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring financial data is accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee inventory valuations and counts to ensure accuracy.
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes and monitor financial performance against established budgets.




- Provide financial reports, analysis, and strategic recommendations to support business planning and decision-making.
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships and financial arrangements.
- Coordinate year-end financial reviews or audits and serve as the primary liaison with external accountants.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings, government reporting, and accounting regulations.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA designation.
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in the agricultural sector is an asset.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Pay: $75,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
