- Collaborate with the Dispatch team on the daily planning of driver shifts and assignments
- Coordinate with brokers and issue schedules a minimum of two weeks in advance
- Enter driver schedules and equipment information into the Company's Shift Assignment system
- Monitor run-out reports for deviations or consumption spikes and coordinate the reallocation of resources
- Support operational planning and work with the Operations Managers to adjust resources so that all work is covered on time
- Distribute the daily dispatch report to Operations Managers and Safety Managers
- Maintain a working familiarity with the Company's internal systems, including AutoDispatch, in order to effectively support the Dispatch team
- Translate and relay operational instructions, schedules, and safety communications between French-speaking field staff and English-speaking corporate teams as required
Experience
- Full professional proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written, is required for this role
- Proven supervisory or coordination experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, or fleet operations; bulk or dangerous goods experience is a strong asset
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Familiarity with dispatch, TMS, or fleet maintenance software; experience with scheduling and shift assignment systems is preferred
- Working knowledge of TDG regulations and Quebec provincial safety, inspection, and compliance requirements, including SAAQ vehicle inspection and preventative maintenance cycles
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage time efficiently
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), for reporting and communication
- Data analysis skills to support continuous process improvement initiatives
- Availability for on-call rotations, shift work, and occasional weekend coverage as operational demand requires
