Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving/Kitting Specialist with forklift experience to join our dynamic warehouse team steady days leading to a permanent position. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the efficient movement of goods, including loading, unloading, and organizing inventory through shipping and receiving processes. Your expertise in forklift operation, warehouse management systems, and order fulfillment will ensure seamless distribution operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, proficiency with warehouse technology such as MRP systems and AS400, and a commitment to accuracy and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Operate forklifts, including reach trucks, to load and unload shipments safely and efficiently
- Manage shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing goods against documentation
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and MRP software to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Perform order picking and packing tasks to fulfill customer orders promptly for e-commerce or distribution channels
- Assist in kitting processes by assembling components or products according to specifications
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage
- Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies using AS400 or similar systems




- Support warehouse distribution operations by organizing stock for easy access and productive storage
- Follow safety protocols during forklift operation and material handling procedures
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow, improve packaging processes, and meet delivery deadlines

Qualifications

- Proven experience operating forklifts, including reach trucks, within a warehouse or distribution setting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP systems, and AS400 platforms
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, order fulfillment, and inventory control
- Experience with order picking, packing, load & unload activities in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities accurately
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution practices relevant to e-commerce operations
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a safety-conscious manner
- Prior experience with warehouse management systems or similar technology is highly desirable

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
