Operations Manager – Laboratory

Location: North York, ON
Salary: $150,000–$180,000 + performance bonus
Work Model: In office, Monday–Friday

The Opportunity

Our client, a multinational laboratory testing organization, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help lead a laboratory facility in the Greater Toronto Area.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on laboratory leader to help build an operation from the ground up. The successful candidate will oversee laboratory operations, technical performance, quality, people leadership and financial performance while supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead day-to-day laboratory operations, quality and performance
- Oversee laboratory instrumentation, equipment and processes
- Recruit, develop and lead the laboratory team
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and applicable quality standards
- Manage budgets, P&L; and operational KPIs
- Drive productivity, turnaround times and customer service
- Lead continuous improvement, root cause analysis and corrective actions

Qualifications





- 10+ years of laboratory experience
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025
- Experience with chemistry laboratory instrumentation such as ICP-OES/MS, GC-MS/ECD/FID, HPLC, IC and/or discrete analyzers
- Strong people leadership and problem-solving skills
- Experience with budgets, P&L; and performance metrics
- Degree or diploma in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering or a related discipline preferred
