DISTRICT-06 ROCK LAKE / ONE TREE / AQUEDUCT WATER OPERATOR

Job Summary

The Eastern Irrigation District (EID), Brooks, Alberta, seeks a full time DISTRICT-06 ROCK LAKE / ONE TREE / AQUEDUCT WATER OPERATOR to join our water delivery team.

The Water Operator, reporting to the Superintendent, works alongside 11 other divisional team members. This position is responsible for receiving and responding to water delivery and cancellation orders from farmers and other water users, monitoring and maintenance of water delivery and drainage infrastructure, and working as part of a construction crew during the non-irrigation season. The Water Operator will be required to be on call 24/7 for the water season May-October.

The individual must have a broad set of qualifications and skills, including, but not limited to:

- strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, produce accurate results, and meet deadlines;
- self-motivated with the ability and willingness to work independently as well as productively and cooperatively in a team environment;




- effective interpersonal communication skills;
- basic computer knowledge; and a
- valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence required.
