About the position

The Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing professional and efficient beverage service during weddings, meetings, conferences, receptions, and other events. The role involves setting up and operating banquet bars, preparing and serving beverages, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and ensuring responsible alcohol service.

The Banquet Server is responsible for providing professional, friendly, and attentive food and beverage service during weddings, meetings, conferences, private functions, and other events. The role includes event setup, guest service, food and beverage service, and event breakdown while maintaining Westin and Marriott service standards.

Banquet Bartender - Key Responsibilities

- Set up and stock banquet bars according to event requirements.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a professional and timely manner.
- Greet guests and provide friendly, attentive service.
- Follow event-specific beverage menus and service instructions.
- Maintain adequate supplies of beverages, ice, glassware, garnishes, and other bar items.
- Monitor inventory and notify the supervisor when additional supplies are required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and surrounding service areas.




- Process beverage transactions accurately when required.
- Verify identification and follow responsible alcohol service practices.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and refuse service when required by law or company standards.
- Communicate with banquet servers, kitchen staff, supervisors, and event organizers to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with bar breakdown, cleaning, and proper storage of equipment and supplies after events.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and liquor service requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow Westin and Marriott service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Banquet Server - Key Responsibilities

- Set up banquet rooms, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and service stations according to event requirements.
- Welcome guests and provide professional and courteous service throughout the event.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently and according to established service standards.
- Assist with plated meals, buffets, receptions, coffee breaks, and other functions.
- Monitor guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
- Replenish food, beverages, and supplies as required.
- Clear tables and maintain cleanliness throughout the event.
- Communicate and coordinate with the kitchen, bar, banquet team, and supervisors.




- Follow event timelines and function requirements.
- Assist with room changes, resets, and breakdown after events.
- Handle dishes, glassware, trays, and equipment safely.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
- Report guest concerns or service issues to the Banquet Supervisor or Manager.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Previous banquet, hotel, restaurant, or customer service experience is required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Guest-focused with a professional and friendly approach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
- Serving It Right certification is required when serving alcohol in British Columbia.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/carry trays and equipment.
