Job Overview

We are hiring a local Technical Designer for CAD design, technical documentation, shop and field instructions, and keeping documentation systems current — with close collaboration with production. The role sits between design and the shop: drawings, instruction packs, templates and cut-layout support, and fast revisions when production feedback comes in.

You will learn our products and documentation standards on the job. Solid Autodesk Inventor and Fusion skills and comfort with frequent changes matter more than years of experience.

What you will do

- Create and maintain technical drawings and documentation (clarity, consistency, revisions), including 3D models of parts and assemblies where dimensions are missing or only exist as tribal knowledge.
- Create and control instruction packs so shop and field teams work from one current set — customer install sheets and shop process instructions.
- Support production geometry: jigs and fixtures, cutting templates, nested layouts, and similar shop aids that improve accuracy and reduce waste. You design and document; production owns running the floor.
- Maintain product and shop-docs pages in Notion as directed (we will train you on our workspace). Notion is the live pack the shop uses, not a static archive.
- Support design work in Inventor and Fusion.
- Work tightly with production: fast responses, frequent changes, shop feedback turned into updated drawings, templates, and instructions.
- Keep kit contents and extra-materials callouts in drawings and instructions aligned with what production actually needs to build and ship.
- Take part in assembly and support R&D; projects (build trials, prototypes, shop/field follow-through).
- Prepare clear internal materials when needed:

drawings, sheets, short presentations etc.

Must-have

- Technical education (engineering, technician, design-tech, or equivalent).
- Working proficiency in both Autodesk Inventor and Fusion.
- Ability to create and maintain engineering drawings / technical documentation.
- Confident PC user: Microsoft Office, presentations, Google Sheets / Drive.
- Willingness to learn our systems, products, and documentation standards.
- Early-career experience is welcome if CAD and documentation discipline are strong.
- English for shop and team communication.
- Able to commute to Portland / Rideau Lakes area; available full-time ~8–4.
- Practical, fast reaction to changing production and product inputs.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice-to-have

- Experience in prefab, light-frame, modular, or panelized construction.
- Revit.
- Hands-on familiarity with wood, plywood, metal, and common building materials.
- Experience designing shop jigs, fixtures, cutting templates, or nested layouts.
- Experience writing shop-floor work instructions, not only office drawings.
- QC / tolerances / CNC or shop-floor handoff experience.

How we work

- Manufacturing + product team; work moves quickly.
- Tools: Inventor, Fusion, Notion, Google Workspace, Slack.
- NDA and confidential product work apply.

Join us as a Technical Designer where your creativity fuels innovative projects! We value energetic minds eager to shape visually stunning experiences across digital and physical realms—your talents will help elevate our brandnthrough powerful design solutions!
