Small Group Strength Coach

Reina Ray Fitness — North Delta, BC
Independent Contractor / Freelance
$35–$50 per completed session, based on experience, qualifications, and agreed service scope

Join the Reina Ray coaching team

Reina Ray Fitness is looking for dependable, engaging strength coaches to lead small group training sessions at our boutique studio.

Our immediate hiring priority is small group strength training. We’re looking for coaches who can confidently lead a group while providing individual attention, teaching proper technique, and adapting exercises to different abilities.

Our clients include busy professionals, adults returning to exercise, women 40+, beginners, pregnant and postpartum clients, and people who may feel intimidated or underserved by traditional gym environments.

Our approach is client-centred, inclusive, and focused on progressive strength training that helps people become stronger, move well, and build lasting confidence.

Additional personal and semi-private training opportunities may be available to coaches with appropriate qualifications, but these are secondary to our current group coaching needs.

Who we’re looking for

You have strong strength-training fundamentals and enjoy helping people feel capable and supported in a group setting.

You can:

- Lead an organized, engaging strength session while staying attentive to individual participants
- Teach foundational strength movements through clear demonstrations and practical cues
- Observe technique and provide useful, respectful feedback
- Adapt exercises, loads, and intensity for different experience levels and abilities
- Provide thoughtful modifications and progressions within your qualifications
- Help beginners build confidence while appropriately challenging experienced participants
- Create a welcoming environment and build positive relationships with regular clients

Preparation, reliability, and communication are essential. We value coaches who arrive ready, review relevant information, ask questions when something is unclear, and follow through on the sessions they accept.

Previous small group strength-coaching experience is preferred. Newly certified professionals with strong fundamentals and a professional approach are also welcome to apply.

Small group strength-training opportunities

Opportunities may include:

- Small group strength sessions
- Strength and endurance training
- Specialty strength sessions or workshops within your qualifications

Our priority is attentive coaching and purposeful strength training. We want clients to understand the movements, receive appropriate guidance, and progress with confidence.

Within the service description and applicable safety requirements, contractors retain professional discretion over exercise selection, programming, sequencing, modifications, progressions, and coaching methods.

Why coach through Reina Ray?

You bring the coaching expertise. We provide an established studio environment and administrative support.

Depending on your qualifications and the availability you choose to offer, opportunities and support may include:

- Recurring small group strength-training engagements
- An equipped boutique training facility
- Booking and client-management infrastructure through Momence
- Studio-managed marketing, client agreements, package sales, billing, and payment collection
- Compensation for eligible late cancellations, no-shows, and applicable studio cancellations
- Additional paid assessments, onboarding appointments, workshops, and specialty services
- Eligible new-client referral opportunities
- A collaborative coaching environment
- No facility rental charge for accepted Reina Ray engagements

Contractors remain free to operate their own independent businesses and provide services to other studios, organizations, and private clients.

What you’ll do

Depending on your qualifications and the engagements you accept, you will:

- Plan and deliver safe, engaging, appropriately scaled strength-training sessions
- Demonstrate exercises and provide transparent technique instruction
- Monitor participants and offer individual feedback throughout sessions
- Adjust exercises and intensity to support different abilities and experience levels
- Foster a welcoming, encouraging environment
- Review relevant session and client information and arrive prepared
- Clarify any service requirements or procedures you do not understand
- Maintain accurate contractor-selected availability and accepted bookings in Momence
- Communicate promptly about changes affecting accepted engagements
- Collaborate professionally to support continuity of client service
- Handle client information appropriately and protect confidentiality
- Follow applicable emergency, safety, privacy, equipment, and premises procedures
- Leave equipment and shared studio spaces clean, organized, and ready for the next session
- Follow studio access and closing procedures when applicable

Availability and accepted commitments

We are particularly interested in coaches who would like to take on recurring small group strength sessions and can reliably fulfill the engagements they accept. We are specifically looking for weekday mornings at this time.

Contractors independently determine the booking windows they choose to make available to Reina Ray through Momence. There is no required minimum availability or requirement to reserve priority availability for Reina Ray.

Contractors may add, change, or remove unbooked availability at their discretion.

Reina Ray may offer or place compatible engagements within availability a contractor has chosen to make bookable. Once an engagement has been accepted or booked within that availability, the contractor is responsible for fulfilling it or following the applicable cancellation or substitution process.

Engagements outside published availability may be offered separately and may be accepted or declined.

If a contractor chooses to accept recurring engagements, reasonable continuity is expected. Changes affecting those engagements require reasonable advance notice and cooperation in transitioning affected clients. This does not require contractors to maintain general availability or accept additional engagements.

No minimum number of sessions, clients, bookings, hours, or income is guaranteed.

Qualifications

Applicants must have, or be able to obtain before beginning services:

- A recognized certification appropriate to group strength training or personal training, such as BCRPA, canfitpro, CSEP, or an equivalent credential

- The ability to coach participants with different experience levels in a group setting
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid
- Appropriate professional and commercial liability insurance
- Any legally required business registration or licence
- WorkSafeBC status appropriate to their individual business circumstances, where applicable
- Strong communication, coaching, and client-service skills
- A professional, inclusive, and client-centred coaching approach

Additional qualifications in areas such as prenatal and postpartum fitness are welcome. All services must remain within the coach’s qualifications and professional scope.

Compensation

$35–$50 per completed session, based on experience, qualifications, service scope, and the contractor’s written fee schedule.

Relevant factors may include:

- Small group strength-coaching experience
- Professional certifications and specialty qualifications
- Experience adapting strength training for varied client needs

- Qualifications to provide additional services

Additional paid opportunities may include:

- Client assessments and onboarding
- Personal and semi-private training
- Workshops and specialty services
- Eligible new-client referrals
- Eligible late cancellations and no-shows
- Other mutually agreed studio opportunities

Applicable rates, eligibility requirements, and payment terms are outlined in the contractor’s written fee schedule.

Contractors submit itemized invoices, and undisputed invoices are paid within 15 calendar days. GST may be added where applicable.

Additional personal training opportunities

Coaches with appropriate qualifications may also be considered for:

- One-on-one personal training
- Semi-private strength training
- RR Intro Experience appointments
- Client assessments and onboarding
- Specialty sessions within their professional scope

Reina Ray may offer these opportunities based on client needs, qualifications, service compatibility, professional fit, and contractor-selected availability.

Independent trainers are welcome to introduce existing or independently acquired clients to Reina Ray. Paid training delivered at the studio is booked and paid through Reina Ray, with the contractor receiving the applicable agreed fee. Eligible introductions may qualify for referral compensation.

Contractors remain free to work with their own private clients outside Reina Ray.

Professional independence and studio standards

Reina Ray establishes reasonable requirements relating to:

- Client and participant safety
- Privacy and confidentiality
- Emergency procedures
- Appropriate use of studio premises and equipment
- Professional conduct
- Service descriptions and intended client outcomes
- Client communication and continuity of service

Within those requirements, contractors retain professional discretion over how they deliver their services within their qualifications and scope.

This arrangement includes:

- No exclusivity or requirement to reserve priority availability
- Freedom to provide services to other studios, organizations, and private clients
- Contractor control over published availability
- Ability to accept or decline separately offered engagements outside published availability
- No guaranteed minimum schedule, bookings, clients, or income
- Written service and compensation terms

- Contractor responsibility for their own business expenses, insurance, certifications, and applicable tax and regulatory obligations

Successful applicants enter into a written contractor agreement covering compensation, invoicing, accepted engagements, cancellations, scheduling, substitutions, insurance, safety, privacy, confidentiality, and client relationships.

Substitutions

If you are unable to fulfill an accepted engagement, you may request coverage from another current Reina Ray contractor or propose a suitably qualified substitute from outside the Reina Ray team.

Substitutes must meet the requirements applicable to the service, including appropriate qualifications, current certifications, insurance, safety requirements, and authorization to access the studio.

The substitution and notification process is outlined in the contractor agreement and operating procedures.

Paid Studio Orientation & Systems Setup

Before beginning services, successful contractors complete a paid Studio Orientation & Systems Setup.

This may include:

- Momence booking and client-management procedures
- Studio access and closing procedures
- Emergency and safety procedures
- Privacy and confidential-information requirements
- Equipment and facility procedures
- Client handoff and communication procedures

Contractors remain responsible for maintaining the professional knowledge, qualifications, and competencies required to provide their services.
