About the Role
We are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead our afternoon/night shift in labels and flexible packaging production. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production while maintaining schedules and performance targets. The ideal candidate is a floor-focused leader who can coach and support operators, troubleshoot equipment and production issues, solve problems, and use production data to drive results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead shift staffing, operator coverage, and daily production activities across all machines.
- Engage, coach, and support operators to maintain productivity, quality, and accountability.
- Ensure production schedules, materials, and resources are in place to meet targets.
- Promote and enforce safety, GMP, GFSI, Lean Manufacturing, and quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance, speeds, downtime, and production output using Fastik tracking systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, provide hands-on support, and coordinate resources as needed.
- Identify production and quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate with other departments and shifts to resolve bottlenecks and maintain production flow.
- Monitor WIP, raw materials, and consumables to support uninterrupted production.
- Participate in production meetings and contribute to demand, capacity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead monthly team meetings and promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
- Communicate shift priorities, issues, and results effectively with Production and Operations Management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar supervisory or lead role in a manufacturing environment required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and production tracking systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform basic equipment repairs.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor,
and develop employees while maintaining accountability and productivity.
- Experience monitoring production schedules, machine performance, productivity, and quality metrics.
- Knowledge of workplace safety, quality control, GMP, GFSI, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience in food manufacturing, flexible packaging, printing, or warehouse environments preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and shifts.
- Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced production environment and respond effectively to changing priorities.
Work Environment
Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment with frequent time on the production floor. Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting or material handling, with regular exposure to machinery, production noise, and varying temperatures. PPE is required as applicable. Hair nets, beard nets, and earplugs are provided and required. Safety shoes are subsidized after successful completion of probation.

M-F: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
