We are currently expanding our team and are looking for a Transport Refrigeration Technician Apprentice in Vars (Ottawa) to join us!

Responsibilities

- Assist with troubleshooting, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of truck and trailer refrigeration units under the direction of experienced technicians until completing the training required.
- Learn and perform preventive maintenance and inspections on transport refrigeration equipment.
- Use diagnostic tools and manuals, and test equipment to identify faults and assist with repairs.
- Assist with removing, replacing, testing, assembling, and installing Units, parts and components.
- Assist with refrigeration system service, including leak testing and other related procedures, in accordance with company safety requirements and technical procedures.
- Follow Thermo King technical manuals, service procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and properly care for company tools and equipment.
- Provide professional and respectful service to customers and work effectively as part of the service team.

Health & Safety Compliance

- Follow all company Health & Safety policies,



procedures, and safe work practices.
- Use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety devices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work workplace.
- Handle hazardous materials and parts according to company and regulatory requirements
- Immediately report hazards, unsafe conditions, near misses, injuries, incidents, and property damage.
- Participate in required health and safety training and follow all applicable legislative and company requirements.
- Contribute to a positive safety culture and support the company's commitment to continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

Key Skills and Experience

- Mechanical/HVAC background and/or experience required
- Ozone Depletion Certificate preferred
- Tools with Tool Storage
- Valid Driver’s License

Qualifications

- College diploma/certificate in a mechanical trade
- ODP License is a strong asset
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Some experience in the trucking or automotive industry.
- A valid G License.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
