About the Role

The Rubinet Faucet Company is currently seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined PVD Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating advanced vacuum coating machinery, ensuring parts are properly prepped, loaded, and coated to our strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Part Preparation: Prepare parts for the coating process by cleaning, drying, and stripping previous coatings (for rework procedures), ensuring all components meet preliminary quality standards.
- Machine Setup & Loading: Carefully rack and fixture parts in designated locations inside the vacuum chamber, following precise orientation and spacing requirements.
- Process Optimization: Position parts correctly to guarantee uniform coating distribution and optimal exposure to vaporized materials.
- Machine Operation: Monitor active coating cycles, assist in chamber loading/unloading procedures, and troubleshoot machine alarms or errors as they arise.
- Quality Control (QC): Inspect finished PVD-coated parts using a spectrophotometer to ensure color and coating specifications are met.
- Documentation: Accurately record process parameters,



part orientations, and QC results to maintain strict quality and compliance standards.
- Maintenance & Housekeeping: Inspect fixtures and racks to confirm they are clean and properly maintained. Perform basic housekeeping to keep the machine and immediate work area clean.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the wider PVD team to troubleshoot fixturing challenges and continuously optimize coating results.

Qualifications & Skills

- Education: High school diploma and/or a 2-year technical college diploma is required.
- Experience: Previous experience operating industrial machinery. Experience operating machines with an HMI (Human-Machine Interface) is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with a proven ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Quality Focus: Prior experience with quality control inspections and maintaining detailed process documentation.
- Safety & Physical Requirements:
- Commitment to working safely around industrial equipment and wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Must be physically able to frequently lift and handle items weighing up to 20 pounds.
