Physician Assistant – Gastroenterology & Hepatology

Full time OR Part-Time, 2–5 Days per Week, Hybrid (Virtual & In-Person)

About the Role

We are a busy outpatient Gastroenterology and Hepatology practice serving patients across the Greater Toronto Area, with a particular focus on Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and surrounding communities. Our physical clinics are located in a medical centre in Vaughan and Richmond Hill. We are looking for a motivated and personable Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team on a full or part-time basis (2–5 days per week), working closely with two or more gastroenterologists in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role offers flexibility, meaningful patient care, and genuine opportunity for professional growth.

What You'll Do

- Conduct patient assessments including focused history-taking, physical examination, and clinical documentation
- Manage outpatient GI and hepatology patients (e.g., IBD, IBS, GERD, liver disease, colorectal cancer screening)
- Review and interpret investigations including bloodwork, imaging, endoscopy reports, and pathology reports
- Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Communicate with referring physicians, specialists, and allied health providers
- Participate in both virtual and in-person clinic visits (majority can be conducted virtually if preferred)

Qualifications

- Graduate of a recognized Canadian Physician Assistant program
- Successfully passed national certification exam (PA Cert-CC) and registered with CAPA and CPSO
- Previous experience in Gastroenterology or Hepatology is preferred, though not required — new graduates and those from internal medicine or primary care backgrounds are also encouraged to apply
- Familiarity with Accuro EMR is an asset
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
