Overview

The Inn at the Quay Hotel located in Recent Westminster is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Relief Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our weekend and holiday housekeeping and laundry operations. The successful candidate will also actively participate in daily cleaning and laundry tasks to ensure every aspect of our hotel meets our impeccable standards. This is a union position.

Duties

- Lead and motivate the housekeeping team.
- Manage daily staff schedules and assignments to optimize efficiency and ensure proper coverage for all guest rooms and public areas.
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public spaces (lobby, hallways, etc.) and back of house areas to ensure all cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently met.
- Proactively address and resolve guest complaints and staff issues related to cleanliness or service in a professional and timely manner.
- Step in to perform cleaning duties as needed due to staffing shortages, guest requests, or emergency situations.
- Oversee and manage the hotel's laundry facility. This includes actively participating in sorting, washing, drying, folding, and ironing linens, towels, and uniforms to maintain a consistent supply.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and completing safety training and certifications.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others.
- Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards.
- Maintaining a professional image at all times.




- Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by senior managers.

Skills

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a housekeeping supervisory or management role, preferably within a hotel setting.
- Proven leadership and team-management skills with the ability to lead by example and inspire a diverse team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for cleanliness and presentation.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, laundry operations, and the proper use of various cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management, and guests.
- The ability to calmly and effectively handle high-pressure situations and unexpected challenges.
- The ability to stand, walk, bend for extended periods as well as lift up to 25-50 pounds.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, weekends, and holidays.

This is a permanent part-time position.

Pay: $26.53 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
