Somewhere Inn Collingwood is a 10-room boutique hotel in Downtown Collingwood, in a converted century home with Brooky’s wine bar in the lobby, a sauna and cold plunge on site, and a strategic partnership with Everlove, a movement studio next door.

ABOUT THE JOB

Location: Collingwood, Ontario, Canada

Brooky’s is our wine bar in the lobby of Somewhere Inn Collingwood, and it changes shape through the week. Weekday mornings and afternoons it’s the front desk: coffee, a few drinks, and looking after guests. Nights and weekends it’s a proper wine bar, with locals walking in off Tremont Lane and hotel guests settling in for the evening. We’re looking for a Wine Bar Manager to run it.

Some shifts you’ll be behind the bar on your own. On the busy ones, you’ll have servers with you, and you’re running the floor. Either way, the room is yours: the service, the standard, the stock, and the beverage side of every event we host.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Run the Room – Own the service every night we’re open. The front desk team and the GM open the bar; you close it, and you’re the reason a guest orders a second glass. Quiet nights, you’re solo. Busy nights, you’re leading a team.




- Own the Bar Program – Bring the wine list to life alongside Gibson & Co, who supply and curate it, and build out everything around it. You place the orders for beer, spirits and minibar.
- Set the Standard and Train the Team – You define what good service looks like at Brooky’s and you teach it to our serving team and to the front desk team who run the bar by day.
- Handle Beverage for Events – Corporate retreats, offsites, celebrations and group stays. You build the drinks package, order for it, staff it, and run the bar on the night.
- Manage Stock and Cost – Ordering, inventory, pour cost and waste. You know what’s moving, what isn’t, and what it’s costing us.

You will get weekly dashboards that will provide insights and performance:

- Beverage Revenue
- Beverage Cost %
- Labour as a % of Revenue
- Guest Reviews

YOU ARE

- Experienced behind a bar, with time spent leading a team or running a room.
- Smart Serve certified, or ready to be before your first shift.
- A natural host. You remember what someone drank last time and you’re glad to see them back.
- Confident with wine. You don’t need to be a sommelier, but you should be able to sell a bottle you believe in.
- Comfortable working solo on a quiet night and leading a team on a full one.




- Comfortable with numbers. Pour cost, ordering and a labour target are part of the job.
- Organized under pressure. A full room and a 30-person retreat on the same night is a valuable night.
- A patient teacher. Part of this job is making everyone else on the floor better at it.
- Passionate about Collingwood, and always ready with a better recommendation than Google’s.
- Available evenings, weekends and holidays. That’s when the bar is busy.

WHAT YOU GET

- $27 per hour plus tips.
- 4 day work week. 35 hours per week. Consistent hours. Includes working evenings and weekends.
