Personal Trainer
We’re looking for a personable, reliable Personal Trainer to join our growing team at Beyond Fitness.
This is primarily an in-studio personal training role, working one-on-one and with small numbers of clients in our private training studio in Victoria. There may also be opportunities for occasional in-home training with select clients, depending on your interest, availability, and fit.
We’re looking for someone who values high-quality coaching, strong client relationships, and a science-based approach to strength, health, and long-term wellbeing.
The position can begin part-time, with strong potential to grow toward 20–30+ hours per week as your client roster develops. We are happy to consider candidates looking for part-time work, although our preference is for someone interested in building toward a fuller schedule over time
Our greatest current staffing needs are early mornings, including 5:30 and 6:00 AM starts, and afternoons/evenings, with sessions running as late as approximately 8:00 PM. Saturday availability is also significant.
Because clients train on recurring schedules, consistent availability is very important in this role. We ask applicants to provide the hours they can realistically maintain on an ongoing basis so we can build a client roster around a schedule that works well for both the trainer and the business.
Candidates do not need to be available for every one of these time periods, but broader availability across early mornings, afternoons/evenings and Saturdays will provide the greatest opportunity to build a substantial schedule.
About Beyond Fitness
Beyond Fitness is a boutique personal training studio in Victoria specializing in science-based coaching, long-term strength development, habit-based nutrition support, and longevity-focused training.
Our clients range widely in age, experience, and goals, but many come to us because they want a more individualized and professional experience than they would receive in a traditional commercial gym.
Our coaching team has strong academic and professional backgrounds,
and we place a high value on continuing education, collaboration, thoughtful programming, and exceptional client care.
Key Responsibilities
In-Studio Personal Training
- Coach clients one-on-one in our private training studio
- Deliver safe, progressive, individualized strength-training sessions

- Collaborate with other trainers and practitioners to provide a consistent client experience
Occasional In-Home Training
Depending on your interest and availability, there may also be opportunities to:
- Train select clients in their homes across Greater Victoria
- Adapt strength-training sessions to different environments and equipment setups
- Provide the same professional coaching experience clients receive in our studio
In-home training is a smaller part of our business and is not required to be the primary focus of this position.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of personal training experience
- Recognized personal training certification
- Strong understanding of strength-training principles
- Formal education in kinesiology, exercise science, sports science, athletic therapy, or a related field is a strong asset
- Warm, confident communicator who enjoys developing long-term client relationships
- Strong organizational skills and reliability
- Comfortable working independently while also being part of a collaborative team
- Professional, personable,
and client-focused
- Ability to coach a wide range of clients, including adults who may be newer to strength training
- Current CPR certification
- Professional liability insurance, or willingness to obtain it before beginning
A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s licence are helpful for trainers interested in taking on occasional in-home clients, but are not required for candidates working exclusively from the studio.
Compensation
$35–$70 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and type of session.
This is a subcontractor position with a clear opportunity to grow your client roster and weekly hours over time.
We are particularly interested in finding someone who would like to build a meaningful, long-term role with Beyond Fitness rather than simply adding a few temporary training hours to an already full schedule.
