About the Role
We are looking for a part-time Payroll Administrator to elevate payroll processing, bringing structure, consistency, and overall progressive organization to our payroll practices while becoming a trusted resource for our managers and staff.
This is a excellent opportunity for someone who wants to apply their payroll administration expertise within a collaborative, detail-oriented company, with the flexibility of a remote work setting, with occasional meetings at our office in Abbotsford.
Approximate hours per week: 12 and 24 hours per week.
Duties
- Administer biweekly payroll across three company payroll accounts (approx. 50 staff)
- Process WCB filings and remittances
- Draft Records of Employment (ROEs) and related documents or forms
- Support payroll for salaried, hourly, and hybrid staff, including on-call/emergency pay, and piecemeal compensation arrangements
- Support review and possible change of payroll software
- Assess, organize, and streamline existing payroll processes, as necessary
- Review and enhance how payroll is coded within the applicable accounting software across various cost centres, as necessary (ex: different properties, admin, and construction)
- Prepare and send partial pay registers to managers across different groups for approval
- Primary contact for managers, when there are questions about pay
- Administer benefit payments, additions, removals, and changes to the plan
- Embed the values of Wiebe Properties and maintain the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism in all payroll matters
What we're looking for
- Experience with ADP is required; experience with Payworks strongly preferred
- A professional with strong payroll experience, with a high level of attention to detail and discretion
- A professional that is comfortable building and maintaining organized, accurate systems and processes
- A professional that is a proven track record of working with varied pay structures (salary, hourly, hybrid/on-call, and piecemeal compensation)
- Experience drafting employment-related documentation (ROEs, termination paperwork) and working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and document administration
- A professional that possesses a high level of accountability and meticulous attention to detail, reflective of the brand at Wiebe and how the company operates
- A professional that is a self-starter and can work independently in a remote, part-time capacity, with the flexibility to scale up hours as the role grows
