Overview

The Suffield MFRC is seeking a dynamic and passionate Digital Content & Communications Coordinator to help us elevate our mission and connect with military and veteran families, as well as the broader military community. This is a key role responsible for creating and executing communication strategies that promote our services, programs, and events through various digital channels, community outreach, and event promotion.

Responsibilities

- Communications & Content Strategy: Develop and implement an annual communications plan that includes newsletters, blogs, calendars, promotional materials, social media campaigns, and community outreach initiatives.
- Content Creation & Graphic Design: Create engaging and professional content, including posters, brochures, flyers, newsletters, program guides, calendars, social media graphics, presentations, and promotional materials that support organizational objectives.
- Digital Marketing & Social Media: Manage and grow the MFRC's social media presence, develop digital marketing campaigns, promote services and events, and analyze campaign performance and audience engagement.
- Website & Email Communications: Maintain website content, update online resources, and coordinate email marketing campaigns to ensure timely and accurate communication with military and veteran families.
- Video, Photography & Multimedia Production: Create and edit videos, photography, podcasts, blog content, and other multimedia materials to increase awareness, engagement, and participation in MFRC programs and services.
- Radio, Blog & Podcast Media: Coordinate and develop content for radio interviews, blogs, podcasts, and other public-facing media opportunities to strengthen community awareness and engagement.
- Event Promotion & Community Outreach: Plan, promote, and provide communications support for events, workshops, and community initiatives while collaborating with military and civilian partners.
- Brand Consistency & Messaging:



Ensure all communications and marketing materials reflect the MFRC brand, values, and messaging standards while maintaining a professional and consistent public image.
- Performance Tracking & Optimization: Monitor marketing and communication effectiveness through analytics and engagement metrics and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

- Diploma or Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum two years of experience in communications, marketing, content creation, public relations, or a similar role, preferably within a nonprofit, military, or community-based organization.
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing a variety of communication materials, including newsletters, calendars, social media content, posters, brochures, videos, presentations, and promotional campaigns.
- Proficiency with social media platforms, content scheduling tools, website content management systems, and digital marketing platforms.
- Experience using design and content creation software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar tools.
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact and creating engaging email campaigns.
- Knowledge of photography, videography, and multimedia content creation is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading,



and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all public-facing materials.
- Strong creative thinking skills and the ability to develop engaging content tailored to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, follow direction, and take ownership of projects from concept to completion.
- Ability to analyze engagement metrics and use data to improve communication and marketing effectiveness.
- A passion for supporting military and veteran families and an understanding of the unique challenges they may face.
- French language skills are considered an asset.
- Standard Level C First Aid/CPR/AED certification is considered an asset.

Additional Requirements:

- Government Reliability Screening, Criminal Records (Vulnerability Sector Screening) and Intervention Record Check
- Possession of a valid passport, willingness to travel by air
- Must be adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
