Summit Academy is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a great opportunity for students/young professionals to gain experience in childcare while working a very enjoyable job.

Responsibilities and Tasks

- Assisting with the preparations for the after school program (setting up tables and chairs, assisting in game and craft setup, putting away supplies, distributing craft material as needed).
- To ensure that the facilities and play area are safe for children while at play.
- To assist with safe sign-out procedures and communicate with parents/guardians on a daily basis
- Help plan, organize and lead games, crafts, activities, and more for school-aged children.
- Help with the monitoring and supervision of students.
- Help the children learn social, creative, and physical skills, and to improve existing skills by actively participating and helping in all after-school activities.




- Help the children develop a positive self-image by offering them encouragement, recognition, and guidance.

Qualifications:

- An interest in working with children aged 4-12 (Grades JP -5).
- Comfortable monitoring and assisting children during activities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups of children and teachers.
- Experience in an educational setting or day camps/childcare leadership is an asset.
- Teaching or ECE experience considered as asset
- 16 years of age or older
- First Aid/CPR required

Job Types: Permanent, Part-time

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3.0 – 15.0 per week

- Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
