Heavy Equipment Operator

Schedule: 7-on / 7-off rotation | 12-hour shifts (Rotating Days and Nights)

We are accepting applications for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to support operations in the Fort McMurray area. This role involves operating excavators, dozers, and graders for various reclamation and civil earthworks projects in an oil sands mine.

Responsibilities

- Operate excavators, dozers, graders, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently in an oil sands mining workplace.
- Operate equipment for tasks including sloping, trenching, backfilling, loading trucks, grading, lease construction, and other general earthworks tasks.
- Conduct daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and actively identify workplace hazards.
- Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Maintain strict adherence to company safety policies, client site procedures, and environmental compliance standards.
- Support site operations as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Minimum 2 years' experience on excavators, dozers, and/or graders in a mine, civil earthworks, or construction setting.




- Experience working around soft ground, muskeg, or open bodies of water.
- Reclamation experience is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Valid CSTS, CSO, or BSO certification.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Must reside within a 5-hour drive of Calgary, Edmonton, or Fort McMurray.
