All Systems Mechanical Corp is a growing HVAC, refrigeration and commercial kitchen-equipment service company based in Petrolia, Ontario. We serve commercial customers throughout Southwestern Ontario, including restaurants, retail businesses and industrial facilities.

We are looking for a dependable Commercial Refrigeration Apprentice who wants hands-on experience, strong technical training and the opportunity to grow into a well-rounded licensed refrigeration mechanic.

Position Summary

The Commercial Refrigeration Apprentice will work alongside experienced technicians to install, diagnose, maintain and repair commercial refrigeration, HVAC and kitchen equipment.

This position is best suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting, takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to build a long-term career in the refrigeration trade. The successful applicant must be comfortable working independently as their skills develop and travelling to customer locations throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Responsibilities

- Assist with diagnosing and repairing commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Service walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in coolers, ice machines and other commercial refrigeration systems
- Assist with rooftop units, split systems, make-up air units, exhaust systems and related HVAC equipment
- Work on commercial kitchen equipment when required
- Measure and record refrigerant pressures, temperatures, superheat and subcooling
- Perform leak checks, evacuations, refrigerant recovery and system charging under appropriate supervision
- Assist with compressors, evaporators, condensers, controls, contactors, motors, valves and electrical components
- Read wiring diagrams, service manuals and equipment specifications
- Accurately document equipment information, diagnostic findings, parts used and work completed
- Take clear job-site photographs and enter detailed service notes
- Communicate professionally with customers, managers,



suppliers and other technicians
- Maintain a clean, organized and properly stocked service vehicle
- Keep tools, work areas and customer sites clean and organized
- Follow Ontario safety regulations and company procedures
- Participate in the company’s rotating after-hours on-call schedule as training and experience permit

Qualifications

- Registered or eligible to register as a 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic apprentice
- Previous commercial refrigeration or HVAC experience is preferred
- Ontario Ozone Depletion Prevention card, or willingness and eligibility to obtain one
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence
- Acceptable driving record
- Basic understanding of refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to use hand tools, meters and refrigeration service equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and follow technical instructions
- Comfortable working from ladders, rooftops and elevated work areas
- Able to lift and safely handle tools, parts and equipment
- Available for occasional overtime and after-hours service
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

- Commercial refrigeration service
- Restaurant refrigeration and kitchen equipment
- Walk-in coolers and freezers
- Rooftop HVAC equipment
- Ice machines
- Heat pumps and air-conditioning systems
- Refrigeration controls and electrical troubleshooting
- Gas-fired equipment
- Jobber or another field-service management platform
- Gas Technician 2 or Gas Technician 3 certification

Service Area

Our shop is located in Petrolia, Ontario. Work is completed at customer locations throughout Sarnia-Lambton and Southwestern Ontario, including London, Chatham, Windsor and surrounding communities.
