Position Summary

Reporting to the Site Supervisor and working alongside a skilled team, the Roofer plays a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality roofing installations. This position is responsible for performing advanced installation and repair tasks, solving in office challenges, mentoring apprentices, and supporting the successful delivery of each project. Key Responsibilities

Roof Installation & Repair

· Install and repair commercial roofing systems including Modified Bitumen, BUR, EPDM, TPO, PVC, and coatings.

· Complete demolition, substrate preparation, inspections, and material staging to support efficient installation.

· Install vapor barriers, insulation systems, coverboards, membranes, flashing, and metal components with precision.

· Identify and resolve leaks, deficiencies, and long‑term repair needs.

· Ensure all work meets A‑Tech’s high‑quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices.

Jobsite Support & Organization

· Assist the Site Supervisor with daily planning, materials, and sequencing as needed.

· Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the project.

· Stage tools, materials, and equipment to support workflow efficiency.

· Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and crew members about progress or issues.

· Support project delivery through reliability, teamwork, and adherence to schedule and quality expectations.

· Demonstrate respect and professionalism through jobsite conduct.

Technical Expertise & Problem Solving

· Participate in on‑the‑job training and learning activities.

· Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents as required.





· Provide input on materials, sequencing, and installation planning to improve efficiency.

· Troubleshoot challenges and recommend safe, practical solutions.

· Identify risks early and communicate them to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager.

· Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of roofing systems, tools, and best practices.

· Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and apply industry‑leading techniques.

Leadership & Communication

· Support the development of Assistant Roofers through guidance, demonstration, and secure work habits.

· Oversee small tasks or work packages assigned by the Site Supervisor or management.

· Model integrity, professionalism, and long‑lasting workmanship.

· Contribute to a reliable, coordinated crew through clear communication and teamwork.

· Lead by example in safety, respect, quality, and work ethic.

· Communicate clearly with the Site Supervisor, Assistant Roofers and all crew members to ensure efficient project execution.

· Participate actively in jobsite briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.

· Contribute to a respectful, cooperative, and positive team environment.

Safety & Compliance

· Demonstrate a safety built-in mindset; follow all company and regulatory safety protocols, including PPE requirements and fall protection.

· Identify hazards and take corrective action promptly, escalating when needed.

· Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings,



and required training; support the Site Supervisor with safety discussions when requested.

· Ensure proper use, handling, and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Qualifications

Required

· 5+ years of commercial roofing experience.

· Proficiency in major roofing systems including Modified Bitumen, BUR, EPDM, TPO, PVC, and coatings.

· Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

· Physically able to climb ladders, walk on rooftops, and lift 75–100 lbs.

· Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

· Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and travelling as required (travel costs covered).

Preferred

· Experience mentoring apprentices or assisting with crew coordination.

· Manufacturer training and certifications.

· WHMIS, Fall Protection, or First Aid certification (training available).

· Valid driver’s license.

· Bilingual (English/French).

Working Conditions

- Outdoor work in varied weather and temperature conditions.
- Active construction sites working alongside multiple trades.
- Working at heights, using ladders, scaffolding and uneven surfaces.
- Physical tasks such as lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and extended periods of standing.
- Regular and consistent use of PPE in accordance with A‑Tech safety requirements.
