Arthur James Construction Ltd. is a growing residential construction company based in Collingwood, Ontario, specializing in renovations, home building, carpentry, masonry, natural stone, concrete, hardscaping, fireplaces, waterproofing, and other residential construction projects.

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a skilled and motivated tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship, has solid attention to detail, and is comfortable working independently as well as as part of a team.

This is an opportunity to work on a variety of custom residential construction and renovation projects, with the potential to grow into a leadership role as the company continues to expand.

What You’ll Do

- Residential framing for new home construction, additions, garages, sheds, and custom structures
- Complete renovations, remodels, and residential construction projects
- Perform rough and finish carpentry
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
- Measure, cut, and install building materials accurately
- Install doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, and other finishing components
- Build decks, stairs, and other exterior structures
- Complete repairs, modifications, and general carpentry work
- Assist with demolition and preparation for renovation projects
- Work with a variety of hand and power tools
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
- Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project timelines
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, coworkers, and other trades
- Assist with other construction tasks as required

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of residential carpentry experience
- Strong experience in residential framing and home construction
- Experience with renovations and remodeling




- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
- Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and construction methods
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime available

- Projects throughout Collingwood, Thornbury, The Blue Mountains, Meaford, Wasaga Beach, and surrounding areas.
