Position Summary

Fil-Trek Corporation is the leading manufacturer of industrial filtration equipment for customers around the globe. Our products are designed and manufactured at our Cambridge, ON facility.

Fil-Trek Corporation is seeking a Robotics & Welding Automation Programmer to develop and implement robotic and cobot welding applications within our manufacturing operations.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who can independently determine the programming approach, develop the automation solution, troubleshoot equipment, and carry projects from initial concept through production launch. The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Welding, Engineering, and Operations to improve weld consistency, productivity, cycle times, and equipment reliability.

What You'll Do

- Plan the programming architecture and technical approach for robotic and cobot welding applications.
- Develop, test, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic-arm and cobot programs.
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs and related automation equipment.
- Integrate welding equipment, motion systems, sensors, tooling, and other automation components.
- Develop and optimize automated MIG, TIG, and related welding processes.
- Improve cycle times, weld quality and consistency, equipment reliability, and production efficiency.
- Troubleshoot programming, welding, and automation issues directly on the production floor.
- Support automation projects from concept and development through testing and production launch.
- Document programs, equipment settings, processes, and standard operating procedures.




- Train operators and support the successful transition of new automated applications into production.

What We're Looking For

- Hands-on experience programming cobots, industrial robotic arms, or other motion-controlled equipment.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Practical experience with industrial automation and equipment integration.
- Working knowledge of MIG, TIG, and/or other welding processes.
- Ability to independently evaluate an automation requirement and determine the appropriate technical and programming approach.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational and project-execution skills.
- Comfortable working directly with manufacturing equipment and troubleshooting on the production floor.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Welding, and Operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience developing and programming automated robotic or cobot welding applications.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing, metal fabrication, pressure vessel, or welding environment.
- Understanding of welding parameters, joint design, weld sequencing, and production requirements.
- Experience integrating robotics, PLCs, welding power sources, sensors, tooling, and motion-control systems.




- Experience taking automation projects from initial concept through commissioning and production launch.
- Technical diploma, degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical/Controls Engineering Technology, Welding Automation, or a related discipline.

Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
