Your role

In a dynamic and growing school environment, we are seeking a proactive, hands-on, and reliable individual to support the daily operations of our campus. Reporting to the Director of Administration and Finance and working in a bilingual and multicultural environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the quality of school life and the daily experience of students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

At the heart of school operations, you will work closely with and under the guidance of the Maintenance Lead to ensure the efficient maintenance and smooth operation of the school’s facilities. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and proper upkeep of all indoor and outdoor common areas, including restrooms, cafeteria, common rooms,



walkways, playgrounds, parking areas, and access points.

- Managing and monitoring traffic flow and parking areas to ensure safe and efficient circulation during peak periods, including drop-off, pick-up, and school events.

- Performing routine maintenance, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of school facilities and equipment.

- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and interventions.

- Providing logistical support for school operations and extracurricular activities (APA), including room setup, furniture/equipment arrangements, and organization of spaces.

- Opening, closing, and general supervision of the school premises, providing back-up support to the Maintenance Lead as required.

- Coordinating with external service providers and liaising with institutional partners, including the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), providing back-up support to the Maintenance Lead as required.

- Monitoring and managing security systems, including alarms and access control, and actively contributing to the school’s Health & Safety initiatives, including participation in the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC/CMSST), as a back-up to the Maintenance Lead.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Experience in maintenance, upkeep, or facilities management

- Experience in a school,



educational, or institutional setting (an asset)

Skills

- Proficient in French and English

- Ability to perform regular physical tasks, including moving furniture and setting up rooms

- Valuable command of computer applications (Google workspace)

- Excellent customer service and teamwork skills

- Reliability and strict adherence to confidentiality

- Ability to work independently, availability, and dynamism

- Organizational skills (including housekeeping)

Certifications

- First aid / CPR, health and safety, accessibility (AODA) – or a commitment to obtain them

Working Conditions

- Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday

- Permanent contract

- Dynamic school environment

- Unionized position governed by the LFT collective agreement

- Salary: $38,000 to $42,000 depending on experience

- The position may require occasional evening or weekend work, as well as responding to certain emergencies outside of regular business hours.
