About the Role
T&T; Power Group is seeking an experienced Field Foreman to lead daily field service operations at our Edmonton branch.
This hands-on leadership position oversees generator preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, work planning, technician support, quality review, and the safe execution of work at customer sites and within the branch.
The successful candidate will combine strong generator-service expertise with practical leadership, sound judgment, explicit communication, and a consistent focus on safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily field-service activities to meet customer commitments and operational priorities.
- Work closely with the Service Coordinator to assign technicians based on workload, availability, skill level, urgency, and customer-site requirements.
- Coordinate field workflow, including incoming repairs, diagnostics, inspections, equipment preparation, testing, and completed-work review.
- Monitor job progress, schedule adherence, technician productivity, quality, documentation, and readiness for customer sign-off.
- Coordinate generator repairs and ensure work is properly prioritized, documented, completed safely, and communicated on time.
- Help maintain an organized, efficient, and safe shop environment.
- Support the effective use of labour, tools, vehicles, equipment, parts, materials, and other field and shop resources.
- Coordinate with branch management and internal teams as priorities and customer requirements change.
Technician Leadership and Technical Support
- Provide hands-on technical direction for generator preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, installations, and commissioning-related issues.
- Support technicians working in the field.
- Assist with complex mechanical, electrical, controls, and generator troubleshooting.
- Coach and mentor technicians through job planning, technical guidance, feedback, and reinforcement of company standards.
- Identify skill gaps, recurring technical issues, process concerns, and training needs.
- Recommend appropriate training and employee-development actions to the Service Manager.
- Support technician onboarding and help ensure new employees understand company procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
- Promote a professional, accountable, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment.
Corrective-Action Review and Quoting Support
- Review inspection and service findings to identify deficiencies, required repairs, and follow-up work.
- Prepare or support accurate repair plans, quotations,
and corrective-action recommendations.
- Determine the expected labour, parts, tools, equipment, and scheduling requirements for corrective work.
- Clearly communicate technical findings, recommended scope, expected timelines, and resource requirements to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support the handoff of approved corrective work to the coordination and execution teams.
Work Orders, Documentation, and Quality Control
- Review work orders for scope completion, labour allocation, parts usage, job notes, photographs, inspection details, and supporting documentation before closure.
- Confirm that completed field work meets customer requirements, approved scope, manufacturer recommendations, and company quality standards.
- Conduct or support quality inspections and functional testing before equipment is returned to service or released to the customer.
- Resolve documentation gaps, process discrepancies, missing information, and rework concerns.
- Support accurate job costing, billing readiness, service records, and operational reporting.
- Ensure deficiencies and additional repair requirements are properly documented and communicated.
Tools, Equipment, and Shop Readiness
- Ensure field tools, vehicles, testing equipment, materials, and company-owned assets are maintained, inspected, available, and ready for service work.
- Help maintain appropriate field organization, cleanliness, and equipment-control procedures.
- Identify damaged, missing, or unsafe tools and equipment and coordinate the necessary corrective action.
- Support parts and material planning to minimize delays and improve operational efficiency.
Safety and Compliance
- Lead by example by following company policies, customer-site requirements, approved procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Promote safe work practices in the field.
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, inspections, incident investigations, root-cause reviews, and corrective-action follow-up.
- Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used and safety requirements are consistently followed.
- Promptly identify and escalate safety, environmental, quality, or compliance risks.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of safe work procedures.
Communication and Administration
- Provide timely work-status updates to the Branch Manager, Service Manager, and scheduling team.
- Communicate professionally with customers, technicians, coordinators, management, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding priorities,
progress, and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate reports, records, service notes, and operational documentation.
- Support continuous-improvement initiatives that strengthen productivity, service quality, customer experience, and consistency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson certification in a relevant trade, or an equivalent combination of technical education and power-generation industry experience.
- At least five years of service-related technical experience in generators, engines, electrical systems, or related power-generation equipment.
- Previous leadership, foreman, lead-hand, or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic aptitude, including the ability to support complex generator troubleshooting.
- Experience with generator preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, repairs, testing, installation, or commissioning.
- Experience reviewing work orders, developing repair recommendations, estimating corrective work, and communicating technical findings to customers.
- Robust understanding of field- and shop-service safety requirements, quality expectations, and documentation standards.
- Proficiency with maintenance-management or service-documentation systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and respond to operational requirements within the service area.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed at customer locations and within the Edmonton branch.
- Regular travel to customer sites is required.

- The position may involve lifting equipment and materials in accordance with established safety guidelines.
- Compliance with T&T; Power Group safety policies, customer-site requirements, and applicable regulations is mandatory.
Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 55.0 per week
