1 — ABOUT SUPERFLUX

Superflux’s purpose is to “Bring Happyness & Do Cool Sh!t”, via “F*$king Awesome Food & Beverage Experiences”.

The FOH Leader is how that promise survives contact with a busy Friday night. This is a floor leadership seat first and an administrative one second.

2 — ABOUT THE ROLE

The Front of House Leader is a proven leader with strong staff and management engagement. They report directly to, and work alongside, the Hospitality Leader (GM) for the venue in managing daily operations — the service, the team, the beverage program, and the standards that hold when nobody is watching. In the absence of the GM, the FOH Leader assumes full responsibility for the venue.

The FOH Leader leads the Shift Leaders and the FOH team, owns their training and development, and holds them accountable. They work alongside the Kitchen Leader rather than above them — back of house leadership sits with the Kitchen Leader — while holding every department accountable for its contribution to the guest experience.

3 — HOW WE WORK: OUR CORE VALUES

We hire on these four values, we review on them, and we part ways over them. As a leader you are held to them twice — once for how you work, and once for whether your team does.

VALUE - WHAT IT MEANS - WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN THIS SEAT

Committed

Say it, do it.

You hold the standard when it would be easier not to. The shift starts on time because you start it on time. In front of a team, follow-through is most of the job.

Collaborative

We before me.

You run the floor with the Kitchen Leader, not around them. You take the section nobody wants. Your team’s result is the only result that counts.

Humble

Stay teachable.

You take feedback without defending it. You ask the GM before you improvise. You will still bus a table mid-rush.

Proud

Care like your name is on the can.

Nothing leaves the pass or the bar below standard. Your team knows the tap list because you taught it to them

SCHEDULE & TIME ALLOCATION

This position is full time, but it is not Monday to Friday, and it is not 9 to 5.

Expected hours of work are 38–40 per week.

The FOH Leader participates in the tip pool on the same basis as the rest of the team.

The role is scheduled to average approximately 37 service hours per week within the tip pool.

While there is no scheduled “admin” time, there may be periods where this role is not involved in service and therefore excluded from the tip pool, per policy. That work will be related to the duties herein.

This role includes 3 closing shifts per week.

Evening, weekend, and statutory holiday availability is required.

Standing and walking for the length of a service shift, and lifting up to 50 lb.

ABOUT YOU

Three or more years in hospitality, including at least one leading a team on the floor.

19 years of age or older, as required to serve liquor in British Columbia.

Serving It Right certification, current, and FoodSafe Level 1.

Comfortable building schedules and working in a POS and reporting environment.

Able to hold a standard with people you also work beside — the hardest part of this seat.

Calm and consistent under pressure, and able to resolve a guest issue without escalating it.

Curious about the numbers. You will be asked why labour moved, and “it was busy” is not an answer.

COMPENSATION & ADVANTAGES
