guaranteed/dependent on need) Flexible schedule Monday to Friday
between the hours of 8:00am and 3:30pm.

Rate of pay: $25.64 per hour

Job Title: Casual Student Nutrition and Support Assistant

Reports to: Superintendent of Business

POSITION PURPOSE

The Student Nutrition and Support Program Assistant will work in collaboration with the




Student Nutrition and Support Coordinator to maintain the student nutrition and support
programs for the Board.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

- Minimum grade 12 education or appropriate educational qualifications deemed acceptable

by the Employer.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with minimal supervision.

- Valid Class G driver’s license and insurable.

- Capable of physical activity (lifting of heavy awkward items, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders,

etc.).

- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Receive and unload products, verify inventory, and prepare items for distribution

(including boxing, bagging and unloading). Deliver items to all schools as required.
- Collaborate with community partners to coordinate shipments, deliveries and distribution

of items that support the Student Nutrition and Supports programs.
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection of kitchen equipment, tools and food

preparation surfaces and storage while adhering to proper sanitation practices.

Job Description

- Notify the Student Nutrition and Support Coordinator when food service equipment or

supplies need to be ordered (e.g. refrigerators, freezers, ovens, small appliances and
other items that support the nutrition programs).

- Inform the Student Nutrition and Support Coordinator when and where “Caring Closet”

items are needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Works in office and school environments.

- Exposure to solid odors associated with food and cleaning products.

- Potential risk of injury.

- Occasional exposure to stressful conditions.

- Requirement for work travel within the Rainy River District.
