We are looking for a Facilities Manager to join our Residential team in Yellowknife, NT. Reporting to the Regional Manager, provides leadership and oversight for maintenance, cleaning, renovations, and facility operations across Northview's residential portfolio. This role coordinates regional teams, contractors, projects, and resources to support the timely completion of work, consistent operating standards, and the safe, reliable condition of Northview's properties. The Facilities Manager also provides guidance on complex facility issues, supports the development of maintenance and renovation programs and standards, and uses operational and financial information to identify trends, address issues, and improve performance. Through effective leadership, collaboration, and practical decision-making, the Facilities Manager helps maintain property condition, minimize operational disruptions and down units, and support the long-term value of Northview's properties.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership, guidance, and supervision to maintenance and cleaning teams across a portfolio of residential properties, supporting consistent standards, effective resource allocation, and timely completion of work
- Coordinate with management and front-line teams to establish priorities, monitor progress, and ensure maintenance, caretaking, renovation, and other facility-related projects are completed on schedule while minimizing project deferrals and down units
- Oversee the scheduling, assignments, and day-to-day coordination of the regional renovations team, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to support unit turnover and renovation requirements across the portfolio
- Oversee in-house renovation activities and provide guidance and support to ensure renovation projects are completed efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with established standards
- Maintain communication with Leasing teams to coordinate unit turns
- Evaluate move out inspections, calculating charge backs and supporting unit scopes
- Oversee contractors involved in facility renovation projects, including asbestos abatement and mould remediation, providing advice and guidance as necessary and ensuring work is completed safely and appropriately
- Act as a subject matter expert for complex facility issues, including pest control, mould, asbestos, and other building-related concerns, coordinating with the appropriate internal teams and external contractors to support effective resolution
- Work with the Health and Safety Manager to support the safe and reliable operation of Northview's facilities and ensure maintenance, cleaning, renovation, and remediation activities are completed in accordance with applicable health and safety requirements
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards related to maintenance, cleaning, renovations, and the handling of asbestos, mould, and pest control issues, and support ongoing compliance across maintenance and cleaning teams
- Assist in developing and implementing renovation standardization practices to promote consistent quality, scope, and completion standards across the residential portfolio
- Assist in developing and implementing maintenance programs and procedures, monitoring their effectiveness and ongoing compliance
- Monitor the maintenance warranty program and prepare reports on warranty activity, down units, and other maintenance performance measures, identifying trends and areas requiring attention
- Develop and implement training programs, manuals, videos, and other resources to support maintenance, cleaning, renovation, and facility operations
- Collaborate with regional and other managers to share best practices and identify opportunities to improve the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of Northview's facilities
- Monitor facility-related projects and initiatives across regions, identifying delays, resource requirements, and other issues that may impact timely completion
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of facility-related budgets, forecasts, and costs, providing information and recommendations as required
- Use maintenance systems, reporting, and other available data to monitor facility operations, identify trends, and support informed decision-making
- Perform inspections of facilities as required to assess maintenance, cleaning, renovation, and other property conditions and identify areas requiring attention
- Provide support during urgent facility issues and respond to or assist with emergencies outside of regular office hours as required
- Assist with maintenance, cleaning, renovation, or other facility-related work when required to support operational needs
- Prepare and submit reports, analysis, and other information as required
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, project management,
property management, or a related field, preferably within large or multi-family residential properties
- Hands-on experience with building maintenance, renovations, and general property operations
- Experience using work order management systems and other software platforms to support day-to-day operational needs
- Experience analyzing financial and technical information from a variety of sources
- General knowledge of asbestos, mold, and pest control processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Requirements:

- Ability to work collaboratively with regional and corporate teams, contractors, suppliers, and other internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work a combination of office, site-based, and hands-on environments
- Ability to safely perform occasional physical work, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to provide occasional after-hours support for urgent operational situations and work outside standard hours as required
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and ability to provide a clear drivers abstract
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record check free of relevant convictions.
