Production Worker supports daily operations within our client's Micro Processing Facility. Working under the direction of the Production & Distribution Supervisor, this role is responsible for assisting with the preparation, processing, packaging, and handling of fresh vegetables and other food products.This hands-on position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment and are committed to maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and teamwork.Key Responsibilities

Food Processing & Production

- Sort, inspect, and prepare fresh produce for processing.
- Wash, trim, peel, slice, chop, and package vegetables according to production requirements.
- Assist with vacuum sealing, labeling, and packing finished products.
- Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily output targets.
- Ensure product quality standards are maintained throughout all production stages.
- Identify and report quality concerns, equipment issues, or food safety risks to the Supervisor.

Food Safety & Sanitation

- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation procedures, and food safety requirements.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas during and after production.
- Follow procedures related to allergen control, cross-contamination prevention, and temperature monitoring.
- Report any food safety, quality, or workplace safety concerns immediately.

Packaging & Distribution Support

- Prepare finished products for storage and shipment.
- Pack customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Label products according to company and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with staging and preparing products for distribution.

Warehouse Support

During production downtime, Temporary Production Workers may:





- Assist with receiving deliveries and organizing inventory.
- Support stock rotation and inventory movement.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse and facility.
- Assist with general operational duties as assigned.

Teamwork & Safety

- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and fellow temporary workers.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
- Support a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform additional duties as required to support facility operations.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in food production, food processing, manufacturing, warehousing, agriculture, or general labour is an asset.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a rapid-paced setting with repetitive tasks.
- Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
- Willingness to learn new skills and production processes.

Working Conditions

- Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs (22 kg).
- Work performed in a food processing and warehouse environment.
- Exposure to refrigerated, cold, wet, and humid conditions.
- Use of food processing equipment and sanitation chemicals.
- Flexible scheduling may be required based on production volumes and operational requirements.

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
