POSITION SUMMARY

Labor Tek Personnel Services Ltd. is currently seeking experienced Heating Technicians to perform maintenance, repairs, installations and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, cooling and humidification systems in commercial and institutional buildings.

The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that HVAC and heating systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform general maintenance, inspections, preventive maintenance, testing, adjustments, repairs, installation, lubrication and cleaning of heating, air-conditioning and humidification equipment and components.
- Analyze combustion products and make the necessary adjustments to heating systems.
- Thaw pipes and radiators when required.
- Install, replace and maintain air filtration systems, filters and related components.
- Maintain ventilation equipment and cabinets.
- Calibrate, program and maintain thermostats.
- Diagnose HVAC systems, identify major issues and determine required repairs.
- Analyze chemicals used in cooling towers and hydronic or steam heating systems.
- Develop and monitor water-treatment programs for heating and cooling systems.
- Inspect and maintain automatic chemical-feed systems.
- Ensure refrigerants are recovered and handled in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.
- Inspect, maintain and test timers, controls, pneumatic systems and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret mechanical,



pneumatic and electronic plans and specifications.
- Make adjustments and modifications required for proper system operation.
- Work with controls technicians and other maintenance personnel to diagnose HVAC and building-control issues.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance and repairs.
- Respond to service calls and emergency maintenance requirements when necessary.
- Perform other related duties required to ensure the safe and efficient operation of heating, ventilation and cooling systems.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in heating, HVAC or building maintenance.
- G1 Gas Technician certification, or currently working toward obtaining G1 certification.
- Building Maintenance certification is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Ability and willingness to travel to various work locations as required.
- Knowledge of WHMIS/SIMDUT.
- Robust troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- French and English communication skills are considered an asset.
