Reports To: Remediation Division Manager

Overview:

As Project Coordinator in the Remediation Division, you will play a key role at the intersection of engineering, environmental science, and construction. You will support the planning, design, and delivery of a wide range of remedial technologies to address contaminants in groundwater, soil, and bedrock. From early-stage proposals through field execution, you will work closely with project managers, engineers, field teams, and clients to turn complex site challenges into practical compliant solutions. This position involves a combination of office-based project coordination and regular field visits to active remediation and construction sites. This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement into Project Management and technical leadership roles within the Remediation Division.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Review environmental site investigation reports, hydrogeological reports, and construction engineering plans to determine project requirements.
- Support the division team with proposal preparation, including the design and costing of remediation programs
- Coordinate project schedules, resources, subcontractors, equipment, and procurement activities to support project execution
- Maintain project documentation, action item logs, change orders, and project records
- Track project deliverables, deadlines, and regulatory commitments
- Prepare and coordinate project reporting and documentation, including regular project status updates, field workplans, permit applications,



and remediation summary reports
- Assist with project forecasting, budgeting, invoicing, and other financial activities
- Support with client relationship development, networking activities, and business development initiatives for the division
- Work safely in accordance with VEI workplace health & safety procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Applied Science or College Diploma in a related Field of Study.
- Membership in a Professional Association (EIT, GIT or CET) is an asset but not required.
- 2-5 years experience in related industry/role is an asset but not required
- Understanding of hydrogeology, contaminant transport, and environmental remediation technologies
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues, clients, consultants, field staff, and subcontractors
- Ability to communicate and provide project updates in a timely manner with clients, supervisors, project managers, and field teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete high-quality work efficiently within deadlines
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities




- Strong organizational and time managements skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and other applicable software applications
- Ability to travel and visit active project sites as needed
- Valid G driver's license and insurable

Work Arrangements:

- In-office (Kitchener, ON) for on-boarding, integration and ramp-up (at least 3 months)
- Hybrid (partially remote) work negotiable thereafter

Reports To:

- Remediation Division Manager

Compensation & Perks

- Pay: CAD $60,000 – $70,000/year (depending on experience)
- RRSP: Eligible for employer-matched RRSP contributions
- Vacation: 2 weeks to start (plus statutory holidays)

- Posted pay band is: $60,000 – $70,000/year
