Campus Technology Services is seeking a Security Support Analyst to join our team.
Reporting to the Manager, IT Enterprise Infrastructure, the Security Support Analyst plans, implements, maintains, and supports the College’s security and cloud infrastructure. Working with other senior staff, the analyst monitors and responds to potential security threats within the environment, including the analysis and investigation of security events and recommendations for mitigation.
This position serves as an escalation point for technical staff and works closely with other support analysts. This includes responsibility for the integrity of data and the availability of cloud and security services at Lakeland College and requires strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a escalation point for support staff and provide backup coverage for other team members.
- Monitor, install, configure, and support servers, security certificates, software, and related IT equipment and appliances.
- Identify and resolve complex network and security issues; use system and security logs to identify potential problems and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Perform and review technical risk assessments of new and existing applications and systems,
and drive implementations using change management procedures.
- Configure and implement cloud-based security services for endpoints, servers, and cloud systems, applying security standards and best practices.
- Deploy and manage virtual machines and networks in a high-availability workplace and use tools and templates for repeatable deployments.
- Use the College’s security systems to manage and monitor log analytics; assess and maintain connectivity between systems.
- Manage and optimize backup systems and support disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including patch management, health checks, and backups.
- Coordinate and participate in internal IT projects, provide mentoring and guidance to other IT staff, and use of our service tracking tools to manage issues and problems.
- Adhere to Project Management processes, department policies and standards, and Lakeland College policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
- Two-year diploma in a related information technology field and less than five years of related experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
- Experience supporting security and cloud infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of network security, cloud services, and security monitoring tools.
- Experience with security access, virtual machines and network systems.
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external contacts.
- Post-secondary experience, Microsoft Azure and NIST security credentials are considered an asset.
Additional Information
This is a Full-time Permanent AUPE appointment based at Lakeland College’s Vermilion campus, commencing as soon as possible. Hybrid work arrangements will be considered for this position. The current salary range is $61,632 to $77,668 per annum and includes a generous benefit package. This position requires a security background check and be bondable.
