Job description
The Kamloops Surgical Centre (KSC) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. If you are looking for a great place to work as part of a small team then look no further. As a licensed practical nurse you will have experience in acute care, (this could look like inpatient surgery, ambulatory care, day care surgery) or equivalent in experience and training. There is full clinical support available, and we ensure that you are trained and mentored along the way.

Qualifications required:
- Licensed Practical Nurse – current practicing license.
- BLS
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to self direct
Physical Requirements
Strength Guidelines
· The ability to lift 20-30 pounds is essential for participation in patient care.
· Physiological ability to remain standing for prolonged periods.
Motion Parameters
· Will require use of stairs, bending, squatting, twisting.
Vision and Hearing Requirements
· Vision and hearing must be good with the ability to hear in noisy situations.
Psychological Demand
· Interpretation of data is required.
· Calm demeanor is essential with the ability to make quick decisions under stressful circumstances.
· The ability to prioritize multiple demands and remain calm and confident in your decision making is essential.
· To have the ability to communicate effectively to people from diverse cultural, educational, and professional backgrounds.
· Ability to use critical thinking skills and react appropriately to emergencies within the workplace.
