Join our team as a Milker, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining the health and productivity of our dairy herd. This position involves the hands-on care of dairy animals, ensuring they are milked efficiently and comfortably while adhering to hygiene and safety standards. We milk in a double 9 parlour and are looking for someone with a passion for agriculture.
Responsibilities
- Operate milking equipment safely and efficiently to milk dairy animals according to established procedures
- Monitor animal health and behavior during the milking process, identifying signs of illness or distress
- Maintain cleanliness of milking stations, equipment, and surrounding areas to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assist with general farm duties such as cleaning stalls, pressure washing,
feeding calves and bedding
Requirements
- Experience milking cows/ a willing to learn
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well with others
- Your own mode of transportation
This position is paid depending on work experience and capability. Starting wage is 20.00$/hour. 3-5 days a week morning/evening milking as well as every other weekend required. Time per milking is 2.5-3 hours/ shift with extra hours available depending on the season.
