Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Customer Service Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support daily bakery operations and provide excellent customer service. This role offers an prospect to gain experience in the food industry while contributing to a welcoming bakery environment. The Bakery Assistant will ensure food safety standards are maintained, handle transactions accurately, and help create a positive experience for all customers.

Responsibilities

- Operate POS systems for customer transactions and cash handling
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely preparation and service during busy periods
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with product selections and answering questions
- Make and serve coffee orders
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and display cases in compliance with food safety regulations
- Upsell bakery items and promote specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Restock display cases and ensure products are presented attractively




- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation to minimize waste
- Follow all food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met

Qualifications

- Previous experience in food service, bakery, or restaurant environments is preferred but not required
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation procedures
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience with Square POS or similar systems is a plus
- Ability to work well as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude throughout shifts
- Possess Food Handler's certificate and Smart Serve certification or willingness to obtain them
- Barista experience would be a bonus

Pay: $20.00-$21.50 per hour
