Job Summary

The Regional Representative / Placement Coordinator will support the delivery of the Navigating Horizons: Empowering Indigenous Youth Futures program within their region. This role focuses on engaging urban Indigenous youth (ages 12-30) through mentorship, volunteer placements, leadership development, and culturally safe community programming.

Working from a Friendship Centre or Indigenous community organization in BC, the Regional Representative will recruit and support youth participants, coordinate mentorship and placement opportunities, build relationships with community partners, and assist with program reporting and evaluation.

This is a community-centered role ideal for someone passionate about Indigenous youth empowerment, relationship-building, cultural connection, and community engagement.

Position Details

· Part Time 20 hours per week

· Adaptable schedule including some evening and weekends





· Based out of the Kamloops Friendship Centre

· Travel within the region may be required

· Contract Term: September 2026 – March 2027

Qualifications

· Experience working with Indigenous youth, communities, or organizations

· Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills

· Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally safe practices

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively

· Comfortable with outreach, public speaking, and community engagement

· Basic computer and administrative skills

· Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the region considered an asset

· Preference may be given to Indigenous applicants, particularly those connected to urban Indigenous communities and/or the Friendship Centre Movement.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
