The Opportunity

We have a full time, permanent position available for a Service Navigation Specialist to work within CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg’s Youth Services, based at Huddle Broadway. Huddle Broadway connects youth ages 12-29 and families with integrated mental health, addictions, primary care, employment, and community supports, while reducing barriers to accessing care. The Position

The Service Navigation Specialist is a dynamic, relationship-based role that connects Winnipeg School Division (WSD) school communities with Huddle Broadway and community supports. The successful candidate will work directly with youth, families, schools, Huddle staff, and community partners to build connections, navigate systems, reduce barriers, and create meaningful pathways to wellness, belonging, and opportunity.

Responsibilities and accountabilities include:

- Serve as a primary point of contact between WSD schools and Huddle Broadway, supporting timely access to mental health, addictions, primary care, employment, and community services.
- Engage youth, caregivers, and families to understand their needs, identify goals, and develop individualized service navigation plans using person-centred, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Provide information, referrals, warm hand-offs, follow-up, advocacy, and practical support to help youth successfully connect with services.
- Build strong relationships with school support teams, Huddle staff, partner agencies, youth-led groups, and community organizations to strengthen coordinated and integrated service delivery.
- Conduct outreach in WSD schools and community settings, increase awareness of Huddle services,



and identify opportunities to bring supports directly into schools.
- Work alongside youth to identify and address barriers such as transportation, scheduling, system complexity, and cultural or social barriers.
- Support youth during scheduled hours at Huddle Broadway by welcoming and engaging youth, assisting with individualized learning plans, co-facilitating groups and programming, and supporting students by providing warm hand-offs to Huddle supports.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of groups, workshops, presentations, and other youth-focused programming, including facilitating and co-facilitating sessions.
- Participate in community engagement and communications, including presentations, resource sharing, social media, and initiatives that increase awareness of Huddle and Youth Services.
- During the summer months, support Huddle programming and develop and facilitate creative, meaningful summer opportunities and activities for students from WSD schools.
- Maintain accurate documentation and service data and contribute to evaluation, outcome measurement, interdisciplinary teamwork, and agency-wide initiatives.
- Engage with participants in their preferred locations, including schools, homes, community organizations, and Huddle Broadway, as appropriate.

Salary and hours of work

Full-time, permanent position | Salary falls within Band 5 | Hours: Monday to Thursday 10:30am to 6pm and Fridays 9am to 5pm. Note hours are subject to change based on Huddle programming and operational needs.

The Qualifications Required 3-year post-secondary degree in a human service-related discipline. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Two years’ experience in a community-based social service setting, such as mental health, addictions, housing, or related services. Demonstrated experience working with children, youth, and families. Knowledge of education, health, child welfare, and community service systems. Understanding of youth mental health, substance use, recovery, and harm reduction. Demonstrated ability to apply person-centred, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, inclusive, and anti-oppressive approaches.



Strong communication, relationship-building, advocacy, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and access to a reliable, Manitoba-registered vehicle. Successful criminal record check with vulnerable sector search and both adult and child abuse registry checks, with results deemed satisfactory to CMHA. Legally entitled to work in Canada. Proven history of dependable performance and conduct.

Preferred (assets that will strengthen your application) Experience in service navigation, clinical assessment, counselling, care coordination, or related community-based work. Knowledge of community resources, Housing First, harm reduction, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and Stages of Change. Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous experiences of trauma, colonization, and cultural healing practices and resources. Experience working with diverse communities, including 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, racialized and newcomer youth and families. Demonstrated commitment to reconciliation and decolonizing practices. Proficiency with MS Office and electronic documentation systems.
