ARK Furniture is a high-end furniture refinishing company serving clients across Southern Ontario. We specialize in transforming solid wood and veneer furniture through careful preparation, refinishing, restoration, and professional white-glove service.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a trustworthy, hardworking and detail-oriented individual to join our team. This is a hands-on role combining furniture refinishing with furniture pickups and deliveries.

Schedule

This is primarily an afternoon/evening position.

- Regular workshop hours: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- Training period: For approximately the first month, training will take place during our daytime shift, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Pickup & delivery days: Approximately 1–2 days per week, you will assist with furniture pickups and deliveries. These shifts will take place during the daytime rather than the regular afternoon shift.

Because delivery schedules vary depending on customer locations and routes, some flexibility with daytime hours is required.

Key ResponsibilitiesFurniture Refinishing & Preparation

- Prepare furniture for refinishing, including cleaning, disassembly, sanding, masking and reassembly.
- Sand both solid wood and veneer furniture carefully and correctly.
- Pay close attention to veneer thickness, grain direction, edges, details and original furniture designs to prevent damage.
- Assist with stripping, repairs, filling, bleaching, scuff sanding and other preparation processes as training progresses.
- Inspect pieces throughout the preparation process and identify defects or areas requiring additional work.




- Follow established processes and instructions to consistently achieve ARK's quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace.
- Handle customer furniture carefully and respectfully at all times.

Pickups & Deliveries

Approximately 1–2 days per week, this role will also involve working with our pickup and delivery team.

Responsibilities include:

- Picking up furniture from customers and sellers throughout Southern Ontario.
- Delivering completed furniture to customers' homes.
- Loading, securing and unloading furniture safely.
- Moving large and heavy pieces through homes without damaging the furniture or the customer's property.
- Providing professional and friendly service when interacting with customers.
- Helping plan how pieces should be moved through entrances, stairways and other challenging spaces.
- Keeping furniture protected and secure during transportation.

What We're Looking For

Physical strength and stamina:
You must be comfortable regularly lifting, carrying and moving heavy furniture.

Woodworking or refinishing experience:
Previous experience with sanding, woodworking, furniture refinishing, cabinetry or similar hands-on trades is a major asset, although we are willing to train the right person.

Attention to detail:
Our clients expect a high level of craftsmanship. Small details matter.

Care and patience:
Many of the pieces we work on are vintage, valuable or sentimental. Furniture must be handled carefully throughout the entire process.

High character and trustworthiness:
Integrity, respect and good judgment are extremely important to us.





Great attitude:
We value people who are positive, coachable, hardworking and willing to improve.

Reliability:
You must be punctual, dependable and able to consistently work the scheduled afternoon shift.

Communication skills:
You should be comfortable communicating professionally with coworkers and customers.

Furniture refinishing and delivery regularly present unexpected challenges. We value people who can think through problems and find solutions.

Flexibility:
We are a growing company and a relatively small team, so everyone occasionally helps outside of their primary responsibilities.

Driving:
A valid driver's licence and comfort driving for pickups and deliveries are strong assets.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
