Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team for a maternity leave coverage starting in November 2026. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our dental professionals in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Duties:
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software (Open Dental)
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed, including handling patient inquiries.
- Support orthodontic procedures and assist with pediatric dental care when required.
- Certification in Dental Assisting
The ideal candidate would have:
- Several (3+) years of experience
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Robust organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- IV sedation module would be a bonus as we do a couple of days per month doing sedations and surgeries.
- Comfortable working with/on kids and families
